CELEBRATING PROGRESS, PRIDE AND NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 2025-2026
The 2025–26 season has drawn to a close, and Wrekin Swimming Club is proud to reflect on a year filled with development, determination, and outstanding achievements across all squads. From our youngest swimmers taking their first steps into competitive racing to our senior athletes performing on the national stage, this season has showcased everything that makes Wrekin SC a thriving, ambitious, and supportive club.
Throughout the year, swimmers across all squads have continued to grow in confidence, skill, and race experience. Our development and junior swimmers — including those tackling their first ever 25m races — have shown fantastic courage and enthusiasm, laying strong foundations for future success.
The coaching team of David and Rachel has once again provided structure, stability, and encouragement, helping swimmers progress at their own pace and celebrate every milestone. The club’s commitment to long‑term development remains at the heart of everything we do.
Achievements of the season has been the qualification of three Wrekin swimmers for the 2026 National Events - English Summer Nationals, Scottish National Summer Meet and the National Open Water Championships.
⭐ 2026 National Qualifiers & Individual Achievements
Eve delivered a phenomenal set of performances at the 2026 English National Summer Meet, becoming a double National Champion in the 18 and over age group.
Gold - 200m Butterfly
Gold - 400m Freestyle
Silver - 800m Freestyle
Qualifying for four events at these Championships, her strength, determination and race execution were exceptional across all events, a truly inspirational athlete who continues to deliver amazing results.
Maisie competed in five events at the Scottish National Summer Meet held in Aberdeen, delivering strong swims and demonstrating her trademark determination she produced an excellent set of performances finishing in the top ten in every race and a fantastic 4th place in the 1500m Freestyle.
She showed incredible resilience and professionalism, despite feeling a little under the weather during the championships. Her ability to perform under challenging circumstances reflects her maturity as an athlete and her commitment to the sport.
Dylan qualified for both the National Open Water Championships and the English National Summer Meet - an impressive achievement in itself.
His National campaign included the 7.5km Open Water race - A demanding event requiring exceptional endurance and mental strength, which Dylan delivered in full finishing in a fantastic 6th place, swimming as a 15 year old in the 16 year age group.
Just four days later Dylan was competing in the 1500m Freestyle at Summer Nationals, producing a fantastic performance to secure a bronze medal in the 16 year age group. Dylan's versatility across disciplines and his ability to perform at the highest level make him an outstanding role model for our younger swimmers.
2025-26 was a season full of teamwork, resilience and pride, a huge thank you to our swimmers, coaches, volunteers, officials, parents and supporters. Your dedication, energy and passion are what make Wrekin Swimming Club such a special place to train, compete and grow.
Now time for a well- deserved summer break to recharge and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in the pool on Monday 24th August as we begin another exciting new season.

Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships Qualification
We’re delighted to announce that Esmay has officially qualified for the 2026 Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships, earning a place among the fastest swimmers in the UK this season.
After a series of outstanding performances throughout the year, Esmay has secured qualification in three events:
- 200 Freestyle
- 400 Freestyle
- 1500 Freestyle
This achievement reflects months of hard work, consistency and determination in training, along with a series of strong performances throughout the season. Qualifying for the British Championships is a major milestone, with only the top-ranked swimmers nationwide earning the opportunity to complete, Esmay has earned her spot through outstanding commitment and racing.
The Championships will take place in July, bringing together the top-ranked swimmers from across the UK. We’re incredibly proud to see Esmay representing the club on the national stage and can’t wait to support them as they take on the best in Britain.

We're delighted to announce a fantastic set of National Qualifications for the club this season, with Dylan, Eve and Esmay earning places at the 2026 Swim England Summer National Championships and Maisie B qualifying for the 2026 Scottish Home Nation Summer Meet.
This achievement highlights the consistency and determination shown throughout the year, with all swimmers delivering the performances needed to earn a spot at the most competitive meets on the national calendar. The Home Nation Nationals brings together swimmers who finish just outside the Aquatics GB Champs rankings, making qualification a significant milestone and a testament to hard work in training.
Our qualifiers will compete across a range of events, showcasing the depth and strength of the squad. Their hard work, consistency and commitment throughout the year have truly paid off.

SHROPSHIRE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Central Baths, Wolverhampton
Despite taking a smaller team to this year’s County Championships, our swimmers delivered an outstanding set of results. Medals are always exciting, but nothing beats seeing athletes achieve personal best times — and when those PBs also bring home medals or secure West Midland qualifying times, that’s the perfect bonus.
Across the meet, our swimmers achieved an incredible 271 PBs, which translated into:
- 68 Gold medals
- 67 Silver medals
- 50 Bronze medals
- 84 West Midland qualifying times
Our 16-year-old boys — Sam, Charlie and Dylan — completely dominated their age group, winning every single gold medal between them.
Esmay was unstoppable, winning 15 out of 15 races and breaking two county records in the 50m Freestyle and 1500m Freestyle. The 50m record had impressively stood since 2004.
Our senior girls — Beth, Maisie B and Fran — were equally impressive, controlling the 17 & over age group by winning 15 of the 18 races between them.
It was also fantastic to see our 12-year-old boys — Logan, Harry, Raeden and Isaiah — qualifying for the majority of their finals. A special mention goes to Raeden, who achieved his first ever West Midland time and went on to secure six in total.
This was also the first ever County Championships for Idan, Fliss, Isaiah and Kitty, and they rose to the occasion superbly. A special mention goes to Kitty, who at just ten years old produced some outstanding swims and medalled in the 10/11 age group and won a 3rd place trophy for overall age group winner — an incredible achievement for her debut.
Another brilliant highlight of the championships was seeing so many of our swimmers finish in the top three overall for their age groups — a fantastic bonus and a testament to their consistency across the meet. Well done to every swimmer who earned a trophy.
Overall, it was a brilliant championship for the club, full of determination, progress and standout performances from swimmers of all ages. Special thanks to all our officials and volunteers who give up their time over three consecutive weekends to ensure these events go ahead.
